Week Eleven

What job do you ideally want? What skills will you need to hone in order to get that job? What educational background is required? How does this class help you to train for these things?
i kind of want to be an entymologist, but im not sure and i know i need to keep up my grades and get good sat scores so i can get into uga.

Week Ten

What is your greatest achievement in school so far this semester?
passing all of my classes and cleaning out jittery joes made me feel like i had accomplished a lot and worked hard for the day.

Week Nine

What has been the most difficult part of your job at Jittery Joe's? Brewing four filters of coffee in the morning is pretty difficult for me. Only because I don't want customers to get upset when it takes eight or nine minutes for me to brew a pot of coffee. What would you change if you could? I'm sure that I wouldn't change anything.

Week Eight

Now that you have legitimate work experience do you feel differently about the way you spend money? Assume you earned minimum wage for working at Jittery Joe's instead of course credit. How does that change the value of money in your eyes? I don't feel any differently about spending money and making money. I have bills to pay and I like to shop, so minimum wage really challenges me. So if I was making money at Jittery Joe's, I guess I would have a smidge more spending, but it would mostly go into my car bills.

Week Seven

Have you had a bad customer experience? Without using names or identifying information, explain what happened and how you resolved the situation. The other day, I gave a girl her change, and she came back about ten minutes later telling me I didn't give her change back. I calmy kept telling her that, you know, I had given her the twenty five cents already that she was asking for. And it was resolved, she finally said, ok, and walked away.

Week Six

Describe how you feel physically while working. What changes or stays the same as you work? I always feel physically tired while I'm at jittery joes, but as the day goes by and I get to eat and talk with people, I gain a little more energy.

Week Five

Has there been a time when you have made an error either with money or dealing with a customer? explain what happened and how you corrected it. what will you do differently next time?
I make errors with customers all the time, I either tell them that we have something we don't, or I make them wait while I foolishly check prices on a list. I am corrected by Kylan, who tells me the actual prices and next time I could be more observant and aware of what's going on.

Week Four

Do you have classmate asking you for free drinks and pastries? Your'e not alone! Some of your peers will ask you this frequently, causing you to make an ethical decision. How have you handeled this in the past? How will you handle it in the future?
I don't really have that many people ask for free items, but if I did, of course I wouldn't give it to them. In the past when I've handeled it at Carmike, I joke with the customer and then slip in to tell them there total. In the future I'd tell customers the same things, "We have no free items, but that costs a dollar."

Week Three

Talk about things that can be done while the coffee shop is slow. What kinds of things can you still be working on to be a productive worker?
While the shop is slow, there's always, always something to do. If I have down time I can check coffee pots and make more coffee, clean everything, restock snacks and drinks, organize and make everything look appealing.

Week Two

Talk about a positive customer service experience you have had while working at Jittery Joes.
While working at Jittery Joes I have had many positive experiences, but my favorite customer service experiences have been with Deylah. Every day during lunch Deylah comes to Jittery Joes and gets food. She'll cook my food for me and even sits with me while she eats. We always talk about everything and anything, I really enjoy having Deylah as a customer and a friend.

Week One

Is working at Jittery Joes your first experience with work? What skills are you learning that you will take with you to future jobs?
Jittery Joes is not my first job experience. I work at Carmike Cinemas and Black Forest Bakery, so I know a good deal about food service and cleanliness. Skills I've learned at Jittery Joes have been about keeping food fresh, how to keep everything sterile, and how to use a three compartment sink. I can take these skills with me to future jobs and they will give me an upper hand on some employees who might not have work experience in the food industry yet.
